A specially designed canvass is zipped tight to the sides, and at the press of a switch you can slide it to control, sun, shade, and airflow, or open fully rain-tight with water carried away through the posts.
Free-standing in the garden or mounted against the house, every canvas
pergola is tailored to your terrace or garden space. You can add sliding glass sides and shutters, vertical side screens, LED lighting, and infrared heating.
Weather sensors can automatically close or open the canvass, or you can

Frameless Sliding Glass Panels
Turn your canvas pergola into a glass room. Frameless panels slide away like curtains in fine weather, then close to protect you from wind and rain, with no thick frames breaking up the view. Retractable canvas above, sliding glass around you.
Sliding Shutters
Sliding aluminium shutters add protection and adjustable shading along the sides of your pergola. Angle the blades against low sun, slide them away for the open view, and enjoy the privacy and architectural texture they bring after dark.
Side Screens
Retractable fabric screens drop down to block wind, glare and overlooking windows, then disappear back into the frame when you want the space open. The simplest route to privacy without permanently enclosing the pergola.

What is a canvas pergola?
A freestanding aluminium frame with a retractable fabric roof. Open the canvas for full sun, close it for shade and light shelter, and add optional sides to turn it into a proper outdoor room anywhere in the garden.
What is the difference between a canvas pergola and a canvas veranda?
Where it stands. A veranda is mounted to the house and extends your patio, while a pergola is freestanding, so you can place it anywhere in the garden. The retractable canvas roof and the options are the same.
What is the difference between a canvas pergola and a louvred pergola?
The roof. A louvred pergola has rotating aluminium blades, while a canvas pergola has a fabric roof that retracts fully away for open sky. Canvas gives you the fully open view, louvres give you all-weather adjustability.
Is a canvas pergola waterproof?
The canvas is water-resistant and copes with a shower when closed and correctly pitched. For a garden room you can use in heavy rain all year, a louvred or glass roof is the better fit, and we will advise honestly on which suits your plans.
Do I need planning permission for a canvas pergola?
Usually not. Freestanding garden structures generally fall within permitted development, though conservation areas and listed properties can be exceptions. We confirm what applies to your home as part of the free design service.
