THE ARTARES LOUVRED ROOF
A roof that changes its mind with the weather.
The Artares louvred roof lets you set your own bioclimate. Rotate the aluminium louvres up to 140 degrees and you decide how much sun, shade and airflow reaches the patio; close them fully and you have a solid, rain-tight roof, with water channelled away through concealed gutters in the posts. Each louvre houses its own integrated drive, so the movement is quiet and the mechanism stays protected from the weather. Optional extras run from vertical sun screens that vanish into the frame, to warm-white LED strips in the louvres and coloured lighting in the posts.
At Glass House Architecture we design the Artares around the space it will serve: Free-standing in the garden, against the façade, or coupled into larger runs spanning up to 24 metres. With BiConnect weather sensors fitted, the louvres adjust themselves to sun, wind and rain automatically, and glass sliding doors can close in the sides for a complete outdoor room. It is a Red Dot and German Design Award winner, and it shows.
