PREMIUM SUN PROTECTION
More than simple shade.
If you are looking for awnings, you usually want more than simple shade. You want an awning that looks refined against the house, works smoothly day to day, and gives you a more comfortable way to use the patio, terrace or balcony. Our patio-awning range is built around exactly that, with made-to-measure systems with a host of stunning colours and fabric designs.
At Glass House Architecture we help homeowners choose and install selected awnings as part of a wider outdoor living approach: stylish shade, privacy, weather protection, durable fabrics, integrated lighting and heating, and a design tailored to the property. It is the same high-end result, whether you want a wall mounted awning for your terrace or a roof mounted awning for your conservatory or veranda.
Shade when you want it, and the sunlight back when you don't.

Retractable Awnings
Our folding arm range offers a choice of designs to suit your requirements. Be it a classic look, or a refined minimal style, and for large or small areas. Every awning is made to measure, with cassette housings that protect the fabric when retracted and a choice of over 150 stunning fabrics in all colours and patterns. Sun, wind, and rain sensors extend or retract the awning automatically, so the patio looks after itself.

Vertical Awnings
Vertical awnings drop a taut textile screen across windows and patio doors, or the open sides of patio roofs, cutting glare and low sun without blocking the view. The slim cassette stays discreet even at widths up to six metres, in round or square profiles to suit the architecture. For side-on privacy and wind protection at seating height, the
pull-out side awning completes the range.

Conservatory Awnings
“Two approaches to shading glass roofs: an under the glass awning, sheltered from the weather, with taut fabric and optional integrated LED lighting; or an over the glass awning, intercepting the sun before it ever heats the glass. Both keep conservatories and glass rooms comfortable through summer while letting soft, glare-free light through, using weather sensing technology.

AUTOMATIC WEATHER CONTROL
An awning that watches the sky for you.
South and west-facing patios heat up fast, and you cannot always be there to extend the shade in time. Weather sensors handle it for you. A sun sensor extends the awning when the light reaches a set intensity; wind and rain sensors retract it again the moment conditions turn. A dedicated product protection sensor goes further still, pulling the awning in when it detects vibration from gusts. Depending on the version, sensors run from a power connection, battery or solar cell.
At Glass House Architecture we specify weather sensors as part of the awning design rather than an afterthought, matched to the aspect and exposure of your patio. The result is shade that appears when the sun demands it and an awning that protects itself in rough weather — whether you are home or not. It is one of the details that separates a properly planned Weinor installation from an off-the-shelf one.
The shade arrives before you think to ask for it.

FAQ
Awning questions, answered
A few of the things homeowners ask us most often. Anything else, just ask.
What is an awning?
An awning is a made-to-measure patio awning from our sun-protection range, available in open, semi-cassette and full-cassette designs for patios and balconies.
Are awnings made to measure?
Yes. Patio awnings are planned for the intended location rather than offered in one standard size, with exact width and projection choices.
Can an awning be motorised?
Yes. All semi and full-cassette awnings can be electrically operated. Depending on the setup, an awning can be operated manually or electrically.
Can you use an awning in the rain?
Patio awnings are primarily sun protection. The advice is to retract them in rain, then reopen afterwards so any damp fabric can dry. We can fit weather sensors to retract the awning automatically in rain or wind.
What's the difference between open, semi and full-cassette awnings?
The main difference is how enclosed and protected the awning is when retracted. A full-cassette design fully encloses the fabric and arms for the neatest, most protected finish.
