PERMANENT SHELTER
A fabric roof that opens and closes.
A canvas veranda from Glass House Architecture turns a patio into a sunlit or shaded space. Fabrics come in a range of stunning colours and designs, they are held in runners tight to the sides, and at the press of a switch you can control the sun, shade, and airflow, or open fully rain tight.
Every canvas veranda is designed to suit your terrace. You can choose a large open span veranda, a lighter frame minimal design or a simple manual system. To the larger system you can introduce sliding glass and shutters, vertical screens and create a cosy glass room. LED lighting, and infrared heating is also available, and weather sensors will automatically close the canvas if you’re out when gale force winds arrive. Installed throughout the UK.
Sun when you want it, shade when you need it, and designs to suit all budgets.

FAQ
Canopy questions, answered
A few of the things homeowners ask us most often. Anything else, just ask.
What is a garden canopy?
A fixed overhead cover, usually glass or aluminium on a slim frame, that shelters a patio, or garden seating area permanently.
What is the difference between a canopy and an awning?
A canopy is fixed and always in place. An awning is retractable, extending for shade and pulling back when you want the light.
Can a canopy be glass?
“No. A canopy is a textile roof that retracts. For a permanent glass roof look at our glass veranda options.”
Can I have glass sides to my canopy?
Yes. Frameless glass sides give you additional weather protection whilst allowing you uninterrupted views of the garden.
Do canopies need maintenance?
Very little. They use powder coated aluminium frames and durable, weatherproof textiles.
